Grinding mills studied to reach an extremely fine consistency D90 ˂ 20µ with low energy consumption. The 2K mills are machines with a single grinding chamber and independent motorized selector/classifier of particles. The functioning of these mills is based on grinding by impact at high speed between hammers and shell, and subsequent total control of the granulometry by means of the dynamic selector.
Once it is micronized in the grinding chamber, the product is channelled towards the dynamic selector through the airflow generated by the transport fan. Through the classifier, the particles that don’t have a suitable fineness are rejected and sent into the grinding chamber once again for further micronization. On the other hand, the product that reaches the correct fineness manages to go through the selector to then be channelled through pneumatic transport to the injection point foreseen. It is possible to have these machines both with a fan installed upstream from the grinding system (positive grinding under pressure), and mills with transport fan installed downstream from the grinding system (depressurized mills).
